# Prompt Text Formatter

<!-- Auto-generated by `pnpm docs:formatters`. Do not edit manually. -->

The `prompt-text` target writes the composed system message of each prompt as Markdown, for reading. It is a preview of the bundle, not an approved artifact. It is not a coding agent target. It is never part of an "all targets" default, so add it to `targets` to use it. It writes nothing for a program without `@prompts` entries and needs syntax `1.6.0`.

## Enable the Target

```yaml
targets:
  - prompt-text
```

## Output Files

| Path                | Purpose                                              |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| `prompts/README.md` | Table of the previews (primary file) |
| `prompts/<key>.md` | Preview of the composed system message of one prompt |

A target `output` moves the primary file, and the other files sit next to it. The target owns that directory.

## Output Versions

| Version        | Output                                                 |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| `v1` (default) | One Markdown preview per prompt plus prompts/README.md |
